To start here's a little more about myself:

I'm currently in college where I major in communications with the aspiration of going into radio. I'm on my way to that aspiration because I work in a radio station, just not full-time...or everyday, but I'm working on it. I'm just a board-op there, but I prefer to refer to it as producer because it implies that I do more. It's a lot of fun though.
About my musical taste: I'm 19 (as of writing this; my birthday is 9-11-87 so figure it out...) but unlike most teenagers I really don't like any new music. My favorite artists are Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Pink Floyd (especially the Syd Barrett era), The Grateful Dead, and The Doors. The only new music that I find listenable (that isn't a word) is Tool, Radiohead, Tenacious D, and The Mars Volta (well maybe except for Amputechture...)
I am a big fan of Folk and Blues as well- Lead Belly, Woody Guthrie, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, etc. I, of course, also like that good 'ole rock-n-roll- Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and others. I've recently started getting into Jazz. I even wrote my final exam for Effective Writing on Miles Davis.
About my drumming: I play a Pearl ELX 9 piece, that I added a Pacific side snare to, making it a 10 piece. I use Paiste cymbals, and am in the process of switching to Paiste 2002s.

My kit:
2 22" bass drums
8" tom
10" tom
12" tom
13" tom
14" floor tom
16" floor tom
14" snare (usually aluminum, sometimes wood)
8" Pacific side snare
20" Paiste 2002 ride
14" Paiste 2002 sound edge hi-hats
18" Paiste 2002 crash
18" Paiste PST5 China
14" Paiste PST5 thin crash
18" Zildjian ZBT crash/ride (really old, needs replacing)
16" Zildjian ZBT crash (really old, needs replacing)
6" Sabian B8 Splash (I got it on sale :))
LP tambourine
LP cowbell
LP block (yellow)

I don't play metal, I just have a big kit because Neil Peart is one of my heroes.

Besides drums I also blow all my money on buying old vinyl records, I have a huge collection (over 1000) with everything from 38 special to ZZ Top. I buy them or people give them to me. I also have a hundred or so 8-track tapes. Oh yeah it is the 2000s so I have a ton of CDs too, but I prefer my records.

So enjoy this place, tell your friends, comment, ask questions, heckle me, whatever.

Cool facts-
I have the same birthday as Mickey Hart of The Grateful Dead (different years obviously)
The Beatles recorded "Love Me Do" on my birthday in 1962 (I wasn't alive though)
